Default Stock telephone/mayday reverse engineering.

I received my telephone computer today and wrote a post about it over on my blog.

http://retrosc430.blogspot.com/

I am planning to build a simple interface for it to use a modern phone over bluetooth. I also expect that it will be useful in learning how an advanced ECU works in the car. This one has BEAN, AVC-LAN, video, decodes the touchscreen, and all sorts of goodies.

I have to wonder how useful the bluetooth cradle would be to others. How many people actually have this equipment installed in their car?

Well this is a bit of a pain. According to the Toyota electronic parts catalog, toyotapartsnow.com, and every other source I can find, this telephone computer is meant for my 2003. Well, sort of. They replaced it with a -050 and then a -051. (this is a -032)

But.... the installation guide I grabbed for the 2003 and the wiring diagrams for the 2003 show a completely different model. Very different connector.

All three PNs that show up as fitting the 2003 look like the one I have. What a pain. I am going to need to grab a 2-day at techinfo again and look at both the 2004 SC and the 2003 LS430 that this one came out of.

Well... what I have (and what a bunch of sources say is correct) is a Mayday ECU and telephone transceiver, NOT the telephone computer. Grrr...

P/N for the Telephone Computer is 86710-50170
