2jzgte Motor swap time for the Neiman Marcus sc430
#2
Watching this build for sure.
I'd like to see what transmission route you're going as I can't picture what to do with the center console when it comes to a manual swap. Planned to do this sometime down the road but too many things going on at the moment. Good luck & have fun!!!

I know I can look it up but I will speak for many of us on here.
Why is this straight six so bad ***? Is it supercharged? 500hp?
Why not super charge the 4.3 V8?
Thanks in advance!

The reason I rather this motor over a supercharged v8 is that in the future I can continue building this same motor to get over 1000hp. Likely won't be happening but opportunity is there with this motor for when I get bored again.
This car has been with me 7 years and I put on 21k miles so it'll likely be a keeper that I'll continue to build over the years.
By the way, I'm selling my stock v8 motor out of my car. It's a 2002 with 41k miles on it. Timing belt and water pump already changed in 2011. It's the Neiman Marcus edition that has the Red engine cover. Message me if anyone is interested. I'm from South Florida.

Is that the same 3 liter 6 that was in my 1997 Supra turbo? It was a pretty cool car, especially after they dropped the price. They were a tough sell at $50k, but not at $38k. It seems like an odd choice for an engine swap, considering the engines that are available today. As I recall, with the turbos, intercoolers and all the plumbing, that engine had a huge footprint.

The 2jzgte is just not any straight 6. Seems folks in this group don't venture out much no offense

What motor today would have been a better choice? He is doing a vvti 2jzgte swap. The options on 2jzgte motors are endless 500 rwhp is easily attainable on stock turbos and pump gas and totally stock long block. You can go north of 1000rwhp on e85 or race gas with supporting mods of course. Tuning options like ProEFI and AEM Infinity allow for amazing tuning options like full flex fuel. Put in pump or e85 and go no need to go back on ecu to adjust.

If I know all about a 2jz then I guess in your opinion I get out!
Why do you want to come in the SC430 area?
Most, if not all people in the SC430 thread are very nice people and enjoy their cars. Some like to mod, others like stock, we help each other out. If we wanted to discuss Supra's we would find that forum.
Since an SC430 owner is modifying his car, many of us may learn some things about another engine.

Sorry if I offended anyone. I know there are a great bunch of folks here. I venture out of the SC and GS forums heck I'm on a GTR R35 forum because I find that car interesting and learn about the motor and chassis. I'm also on numerous other forums just to read and learn about different setups.
