because of the age of the car..He traded it in because he needed a truck for a little farm he had got.and

Everything is relative and this is just an opinion. I paid $21k for a 2004 with 45,000 miles (about 3 months ago). The car was in great shape inside and out and had been well maintained at the dealership. That said, I probably paid a little too much but I wanted that car and was willing to pay a little more for it. With less than 60,000 sold in the US over 9 years there are not that many SC430s out there to begin with(Corvette sells approximately 40,000 per year).

I don't think $22.5k is outrageous but that is purely subjective. The bottom line is what is it worth to you and can you walk away from it at that price? Is it the perfect car for you? Is it in the perfect condition for you? Will they negotiate some on the price? Are you willing to wait the length of time it might take for the perfect car to come along at the best (perfect) price? Life is too short... enjoy the ride while you can.

Like the "old dog" said.....would you rather have a thousand or two in the bank, or a nice car in your garage!

There were just 1,566 pre-2006 and 627 post-2006 in the UK. So even rarer!

I agree, if you want/like SC430 and it's in your desired colour combination, go for it. You may be able to haggle 10% or get the next minor & major service from them as part of your negotiations.

If it has Bluetooth, Reversing Sensors, Telephone etc options fitted, it makes that price even better.

What colour combo is this one your looking at?

P.S. Absolute Red (aka Scarletti), Ecru (off-white/cream) & Birds-Eye Maple trim is the best of course)

Ruger, For comparison purposes, I am currently selling my 2002 (silver exterior, black leather interior) for $17K. My car has 45K miles, and is flawless inside and out. One thing to keep in mind with any pre-2008 SC430 is to find out if the expensive Timing Belt/Water Pump maintenance has been done. This service is often neglected in the earlier, low-mileage versions of the SC430, but is recommended at 9 years of age (or 90K miles). For mine, I went ahead and had the full maintenance completed (timing belt, water pump, idler bearings, thermostat, serpentine belt) as a preventative measure. I also replaced the battery with a very good AGM one (the SC430 tends to be pretty hard on batteries). I'm about to purchase a 2007 SC430 to replace my 2002, and if mine doesn't sell very soon, I'll just sell it to my local Lexus dealer (they've given me a great cash purchase offer -- I think they have several buyers who have asked for low-mileage versions of this car).

If you (or anyone) would be interested in chatting with me about my car, please feel free to send me a Private Message.

Good luck on your search!
