Hey guys, I posted this question yesterday in the wrong forum and I'm still looking for answers. Recently purchased a 2002 sc430 with 80,000 miles on it. Car drives like a dream but I have a noise coming from the backseat. Rear Passenger side ,upper back area. Best way to explain it is that it sounds like a small fan???? Comes on here and there as I drive .

Go and open your trunk and see if the noise is coming from there. If so, it is liable to be your amp.

Thank you . I'll check it out as soon as it happens next time. I've only had the car for a about a week so I've been on here looking up what I can , common issues with the sc430 that exist . Didn't come across anything about my noise issue unfortunately . Thanks for the reply

I remember reading something about the fuel pump making some noise in someone's SC430 on this forum a while back. If it isn't the amp, might be something to investigate.

When it rains heavily AND there's high humidity I get that sound on my 2002 from what (I think) is the amp in the rear. It's def noticeable, when it happens.

Once or twice (over the course of five years) the entire audio system cut out in these conditions... but a restart of the engine would bring it back to normal.
