I' was not aware of that P3933 model. I just check, it shows up as 1 of 4 models used in the SC430 from 2002-2005. My previous understand was that, Lexus used 1 model for 2002-2005my then a newer model for 2005-2009my.
At this point, if I was you, I would just buy the y-adapter cable to make it quicker and cleaner.
And again, the sound is really bad, you're not enjoying your Mark Levinson sound system, even if you are successful this way. I went through all this trouble before I gave up and bought the USASpec BT45. Sound diff is like day and night. I think I'm the only one who uses BT45 on the sc430
That is a shame about the sound quality. I was really hoping this would work.
I want to upgrade the satnav screen unit to one of those android system by the end of the year which means there will be no point for me to spend $250 for a BT45 right now.
I wonder how the BT45 is able to transmit such a good quality and why is it better than the standard aux?
If that's what you are trying to do then I highly recommend get one of those FM transmitter and use that for now. The BT45-toy costs about $140 in the US.
They have some custom chipset in the module, support aptX, noise cancelation (for phone call).
I don't have a golden ears but I think sound is the same with CD.

For some reason I don't remember you talking about the USASpec BT45 before Digitatc and couldn't find it in a forum search. Tell us more about it along with the pros and cons.

I am not getting any sound out of the aux port at any volume on any modes. Not sure why. Took the stereo apart again, soldering looks fine. Any ideas?
Did you make the impedance matching circuit that Retroplay suggested? He mentioned that without it the sound level would be pretty low without it. (I made one but never tested it out. I installed it but never got around to finding a way to get the cable accessible.)

Thanks digitatc, I thought that I remembered it but it didn't show up in a search for USASpec BT45. Thanks for the link. I'll have to read that over again to try to see what the new features that are added and what the limitations are.

Probably buy from someone local, just in case it doesn't work, you can always return. I think several people on this board have installed the GROM unit for their late 05-09 model.

Did the Yatour unit work? I have the same issue with my facelift 2005, it seems to not have the 5+7 or 6+6 external CD port connector. I don't really want to order something from China that might not work! I have the same unit as you.
