I lived!
I can't believe I'm typing this out but it looks like there's one less SC 430 cruising the streets.
Wow what a car it was, throughout the course of our history together never did she give me a problem.
Worst part is I had begun to make tasteful mods (in my opinion) that were tailored to my liking
This was my every day car driven more than any of the others that I currently have and with great reason it was simply one of the best not to mention my favorite because it was a convertible.
Mind the fact that it was the slowest of the bunch she was still a beauty.
I'd get compliments on her daily!
Oh well, what can one do. I think Forest Gump said it best,
$h!T Happens!
I MISS You SC!
More than you'll ever know!
On the close, Be careful out there guys there's a lot of idiots driving the streets.
Over n Out,
DAG

Glad to see/hear you're OK!
Quite the impact, what does the other guy look like!
Total insurance write off then? No plans to get another?
I assume the yard will break it for spares then? I think they'll be a few people on this forum that would like bits & bobs from it if it is broken down.

Man, so sorry to that mess...you seem to be okay, guess the SC saved you!!!
I suppose you could always start looking for another SC.
So what happened exactly?
Do you have any pics of what you hit?

dag8882, I am assuming you are OK. I certainly hope you are. Since you quoted that great American "philosopher" Forest Gump, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get..." Seriously, glad you are OK. And, you are right, there are plenty of idiots out there.

Dag, glad you are ok. That was a hard hit. Where was that? It is good to see from the A pillar back looks like it didn't move. The idiots down here in Texas is the reason I got a dashcam. With it not being a no fault state. I want solid proof what happened. My wife gives me a hard time about them , but I know I need to cover our bottoms.

In the immortal words of Jeff Spicoli: "Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix this!!!"
Seriously, the SC certainly did its job. Passenger's compartment pristine. Glad you are OK.

So sorry to see that you've joined the list but I'm glad to hear that you are okay. You can replace the car but not you. Since there was very little variety in the SC430 design life, you will be able to pick up another one that is extremely close to what you just lost, if you so desire.
I agree with the others that the loss is especially tough just before a holiday weekend, especially since the weather here hasn't reached the summer boiling point yet. Best of luck to you and let us know what you decide to do.
