Twin Turbo SC430
Hey Gang,
I just talked to a Toyota-Lexus shop and he is making a twin turbo for the SC430 folks. He however have done some 2J swap on IS300, but the price tag was $15,000 just for 320 bhp. He said he waiting for some parts from Toyota Japan. Anyway, he said the system going to cost $43,000 for an additional 100 bhp. In my mind, this is the biggest ripe off I ever heard. That is 430 per 1 bhp..LOL..... He said this unit will be mostly for doctors and lawyers. LOL give a break.
I told him space would be a problem to fit two turbos. He said room is not a problem. He is asking toooooooo much for just a little gain.

He knows that he can not BS with me. I know is going on and what it takes to do TT in a V8. He tried to see my system, but I play it off. He is full of it.

That's a load of BS. There is NO WAY that a twin turbo system on a Lexus V-8 could only produce an additional 100hp. For that kind of money it would include an intake and an AFC and custom exhaust. I bet you'd get 40hp just from that combo. The IS can easily get an additional 150hp from a $6500 turbo setup and 325hp additional for about $20k. This has to be a joke. For less than $40k you could call up Toyomoto in FL and I guarantee they would get MUCH more than 100hp out of the SC430. It's not even a SC he's talking about, it's a turbo, he must plan on running it a .5 psi or something...

@squarehat
I think the system you are thinking of is the Blitz twinscrew. I don't think it will hit 450 though.

Use the $43k and buy a Subaru WRX STi and a Mitsubishi Evo...........leave the lexus alone. Unless you add some critical items to increase handling and braking, you're asking for trouble with all that additional power.
If you ever have the opportunity, take a Viper for a spin. It handles, brakes and is STILL downright scary.

43 frickin grand for 100bhp? Interesting.... How much does SRT charge for their GS400 twin-turbo upgrade (I know its not the 4.3, but i guess for price comparison sake it'd work). And doesn't SRT pull like over 500 WHEEL hp outta that? Sheesh... who's this guy kidding. I could even get 100bhp outta my puny lik 2.3L I-5 for 1/10 of that much.
Speaking of SRT, do they have anything in the works for all you SC, GS, LS430 guys?
