Seller is firm on asking price:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/cto/5658280868.html
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...ngId=432384410

He's got an interest from a far away buyer at asking price, and says he has trade-in valuations of around $9000-$9500

He's had it for less than a year, barely driven it. moved from tx to nyc and now doesnt need it
Said he's the second owner -- I haven't looked up the carfax on it yet.

Color combo isn't my favorite -- but don't dislike it.

I've been looking for a fun & reliable car to drive 20miles/day. Should I jump on this or hold out for another?

My question is the grease pencil writings on the air duct? It looks like what wreaking yards do. Has it been in an accident? Does or did it have a salvage title? That is what catches my eye.

If you prefer a different color combo, then wait around for it to show up. I'm not sure about up in MA but in Texas and Florida, they are fairly common. It would be good if you could check it out before committing to it though. (I'm not sure how far it is from where you are located. You could always contract with someone near the car to check it out if you aren't able to get over to it.)

However, for a 14 year old car, 92k miles is reasonably low and it has custom wheels and the speakers have been replaced already. Be sure to check whether it has had the timing belt and water pump replaced. If not, it is due.

(Good eye Coleroad. Definitely something to investigate.)

If your really that interested, check the Carfax.

The only other thing that bothers me is the extremely poor quality of the pictures. For someone wanting to sell an $11,000 car these pictures don't show the car at all. If you can't take decent pictures yourself, find a friend who can. Even smart phone pictures are 10 times better than this. The camera might as well be 100 feet away. Either he is the worst photo-taker or they are that way on purpose. Get him to send you better photos.

Thanks for the responses! I decided I'm going to pass on it -- not worth rushing into purchasing
