Love those wheels, they are called Tourmalines. Had mine chomed on my 02 Millennium Silver as seen in my signature panel below.

i think you have a beautiful car and you did well on the price. It’s about US$24k and 55k Miles.

Son bought a 2005 SC 430 Thursday with 76,792 miles for $13,900 which included tags, taxes and fees. Great service record. Had always been serviced at the Lexus dealer in Alexandra, VA. Will get him signed up for the forum in a couple of weeks when we get to Richmond.

I purchased this 2002, one-owner, Lexus-serviced, 74,500 miles in Naples and drove it home to Ontario. $12,000 private sale.

Nice, that's quite a drive on an unfamiliar used car. Sounds like you got a good one. Congratulations.

Thanks, I really lucked out. The car was beyond what I was hoping for. The seller takes care of his cars the way I do. Nobody can believe it's 16 years old.

The only thing on the car that didn't work was the powered wooden cover for the stereo. Did a little research this morning, and found a simple fix. There is a pushbutton switch for the cover, and under the console in front of the gearshift, there's a connection that often comes loose, apparently. Popped the console cover (which was more research), reset the connection, and voila! Took me all of 10 minutes.

Purchased a 2007 with 29k miles from the original owner for $20,000. Garage keep and not a mark on her. Black with the saddle interior. Great service records and 4 new tires. Not run flats!
Drive like a dream. A retractable hardtop has been on my radar for years. As an auto mechanic, I don't need to be explained why I chose the sc.
Lots of good info here. Thanks

Welcome to Club Lexus. I certainly hope you will hang around and share your auto mechanic knowledge. I like to turn wrenches but only for fun or the cost savings.
A person like you could certainly provide great alternate procedures to get a task done.

What are your thoughts about replacing the timing belt, water pump etc on your new 2007?

When you have time, please post up some pics of your new ride!

Thoughts on the timing belt. Age is still a factor so it will get done on a slow day at the shop. Might not happen this summer but by winter it will be done. If it was driven daily and had a ton of miles it would be ok to exceed what the manufacturer recommends but low mileage is sometimes harder on mechanical parts that don't like to sit and not be used. IMO

I will go ahead and order up the Aisin TB/WP kit for my newly Aquired 2007, 29k Miles and it it done soon.
i did the work on my 2002 awhile back and I must say, it was a big job for me, due to all of the covers etc.
It all went well...thanks for your thoughts!
