I would agree a little pricey. I bought a 2006 in Dec of 18 with completed TB/WP for 15K with 60k on the clock.

OK not sure if mine is a good deal or not since I see #'s all over the place. 2007 Smokey Granite Mica 60,000 miles for 20K?
2 owner car, woman I bought from had since 2009. Her husband is a mechanic and did all the work to it but I was surprised to see an original cabin filter and dirty airfilter. I put tires, brakes (I prefer organic pads), oil change and filters in it. They used it sparingly and always garaged, truly feels like a new car now with the tire change. I feel after getting home and realizing the tires were very old and one had a sidewall bubble that I should have paid my original offer of 19K. What's everyone's thoughts??

Silver w blk , fair condition, on 4th of July,
for 20k including tax& license,
from a dealer in east LA.
I thought it was a good deal, not great.
I had looked for one for about six months.
Took it to Longo for TB/WP, fluid changes.
Enjoyed it all summer.
still liking it today.

I know what you mean. About 3 years ago my 46 year old son wanted to get another convertible. He had 3 previous BMW 325's convertibles I think and they had just been a nightmare. I said why don't you get a Lexus because I have a 2010 LS 460L and I new they were great cars and you could track the service history on Lexus Drivers. So he said ok find me one. He lives in Richmond VA. I new there was a SC forum on club Lexus so I did a little research and started looking for a SC. I found him a one owner 05 SC with 70-72K on the clock with a complete service history at the same dealership up in Alexander VA. They had completed the TB/WP service at around 60K or. The whole service history had shown that if it needed it they had it done. Anyway they were asking around $13.5 or so and he got it for $13K out the door costs. SO about 6 months later we go to visit him as we live in AR and I fell in love with the SC. I told my wife of 50 years "I got to get me one of those" I started to do my research and about 6-8 months later on craigslist here in NWA was this 2006 Tiger Eye MIca (did not know what that color was) had to ask. It was a Doctor's wife car. I knew one of the senior sales folks at Lexus of Tulsa (she had been there 24 years) and she had sold it new. The lady she had sold it to new traded it in Aug of 2017 when they told her it was going to costs her almost 10 grand to fix the Nav. The door would not open or close (burnt out motor). Anyway she called the Doc's wife who was a friend and said I have this 2006 SC with 58k on the clock and she bought it. She paid $21K for it (all the original sales documents were in the owners manual) I still have them. She had it for about 16 months and put around 1100 miles on it. She was asking $16K and I offered her $15K and she said ok. It had the TB/WP done at around 55K. When the original owner traded it in they discovered it had a cracked rim and Lexus put a new set of ANDROS Spec K rims on it. When I brought it home it looked like it had a new set of tires on it however in checking the DOT code they were like 34th week of 2012 but looked new. In tracing the installation in the service history I saw where they were installed in 2012 and they had around 6000 miles on them since 2012 and this was Dec of 2018. And since then I have installed the spare tire kit in both my 06 and the sons 05 and gotten rid of the run flats, pulled the Nav unit and replaced it with a working unit off e-bay for around $65 and I have a set of new rear struts setting on the work bench wait for installation. So yes I know what lusting for a SC can put you through.

Plus you can add a service if not done at a Lexus Dealer. So you get your oil and filter changed at a Toyota dealer you can go in and add that service. Toyota dealers cannot update your Lexus Service History. So I change my own engine filters and my AC filters on both the LS & SC so I go to Lexus Drivers log in. Go into my garage click which one I want to manage the LS or the SC show the provider as DJ's Automotive and fill in the blocks select the service and save. Real Easy. I also log in under my Son's sign on and do all the service we do on his 05.

There maybe more than the price to the seller for consideration of the total costs.
Not that anyone I know would do such a thing but in our great state of Kalifornia the DMV(taxing agency primarily) charges fairly high plate fees every year. Yea so?
if a person bought a used car for green cash from a private party and stated on the DMV form a fraction of the actual price the state would charge the buyer much less each year on the plate fees.
the title has a seller sent in form attached to it that the seller states on as to how much they sold their vehicle for. That should be sent in matching whatever the buyer submits.
large difference over very long term ownership. My last cars and truck and motorhome were all very long term deals. 20 years for several.
$200 or more per year savings over very long term allows such a buyer to buy premium quality retail priced vehicles and slowly lower your effective costs over many years.
Obviously if your state or local has low fees the difference is moot.
like I said I am just mentioning this possibility for discussion as I am sure no one would do such a thing.
requires green cash although. And a greedy, needy state with high plate fees....

When the TB/WP was replaced in my LS 430, the service by the Toyota dealer was logged in the Lexus Service History. Now, I can't say that this is generally true because the Toyota dealership in question has the same ownership as both Lexus stores in town. Also, when an owner logs self-service, those records might not show up when another person views the service history.
