Glad to hear that you got the issues resolved. Hopefully Lexus can give it a clean bill of health in addition.

Took it to Lexus of Mobile yesterday to have them scan for codes and it came up clean. They re-set the ABS VSC calibration, VSC lights went off and we were good to go! Now we can get back to enjoying all the convertible weather in the next several months.

Here are some photos showing the tape and foam that some nefarious and not very bright bonehead used to block the check engine, VSC, and VSC off lights on my car. The car was traded in to a new car dealer with these lights obscured. I bought the car which is in otherwise terrific shape, and we subsequently discovered the error codes but no error lights showing on the gauge cluster after doing the timing belt and wp service.

As it turns out the Check Engine, VSC, and VSC off lights were permanently on due to an ECM problem (two bad resisters on the circuit that powered the camshaft position actuator on bank A) that was repaired by SIA Electronics for approx $200.

Car runs and drives like new at this point.

I post this to stress how important it is to have any car you buy inspected and scanned for stored error codes before you sign the contract. Luckily I had a decent seller that stood behind the transaction and compensated us for the repairs and trouble shooting costs.

Here you can clearly see the foam that had been placed in the holes where the 3 LED lights in question are located.
Foam and tape used to obscure the lights
Foam and tape pieces removed
Cluster reinstalled and now correctly displaying the check engine, VSC and VSC off lights in initial test key on position.

That is good news!
anytime I connect a code reader or techstream to my OBDII connector the VSC lights will come on. Be sure to remember that if anyone does this. That is why I built the VSC reset tool. So simple to build and use.
in addition, most tire places will not be able to rest your TPMS sensors, if required. They need a special reset tool or Toyota Techstream software. Your year SC430 is included.
