Toyota will soon be introducing the Lexus brand in Japan to boost sales but I think in this case it's most likely that these guys just ordered USDM badging and parts. The grass is always greener...

I remember a thread last year with people in Australia trading Soarer parts with people in the US for SC300/400 parts. In this case, people in the US would like to personalize their SC430's with the gryphon grille, while people in Japan want to be the unique Soarer with the "L" grille.

Toyota is going to relase LEXUS murchandise in 2005. But why there's LEXUS now in JAPAN?

This is the answer. We import the Emblems mainly from the U.S. then we swap the Emblems into LEXUS!
