$800 for a spare tire kit? OUCH...
I was thinking of possibly changing the runflats... since most of the time when I get flats, it runs for less than a hundred miles, (sidewalls ends up ripping to shreds) and I end up having to call the towtruck anyway...(2+ hour wait most of the time)
..not to mention being out of a car for a couple of days, tires not patchable once run in runflat, and being raped at the dealer if I get a tire there(last time i had it replaced there it cost me $375 + installation)
oh yea, and the car rides rougher than our rx330

my kit is comin in soon and I should be getting my supra tire comin in soon also I think its going to cost me around $400 minus the extra carpet u dont need, I'll let u know how it fits. I think thats a small price to pay for peace of mind.

I just ordered all the parts for the spare tire conversion from Matt Molini at Roseville Lexus. Since I have a Supra spare, all the componets including shipping were $329.87 I think that is an outstanding price. No need for "installation" costs as I will be doing this myself.
Matt was easy to work with and said the parts would likely ship tomm.
Remember, this price does not include the spare itself.

You should probally look at this instead.
Spare Tire Kit PDF
It has all the stock parts and how to take it out and all the new parts that the kit comes with and how to assemble it. I am pretty sure I got it off these forums somewhere but I forgot where so I just uploaded it to my ftp site. I weighed all the options basically you are going to want all the parts excet maybe the tire cover which is $100 bucks. everythign else your probally going to want because its just not going to look good or perform well without it. I just went ahead and bought it all, I'll let you guys know how it fits with the supra tire and get pictures for u guys next week when the stuff comes in.

My kit came in a matter of two days and has components not shown in the diagrams in this post.
You will need the spare tire wheel carrier bracket and assorted other harware to secure the spare. Just wanted to point this out for those who use these diagrams for ordering as they are not complete if you wish to do the modification.
The SC service manual (section 75-44) has a pretty good description of how to install, and it should not take more than an hour.
Thanks to Matt from Roseville Lexus for putting an outstanding package together. I will never worry about having a flat with aftermarket rims again, yeah!

I will try to take a pic or two this W/E of the completed "project".
In the mean time, these are the parts you will need IF you have a Supra spare already;
1 ea. 51900-91705; Carrier Assy.
1 ea. 51913-24020; Plate, Sapcer
1 ea. 51938-24010; Bracket
4 ea. 90105-06097; Bolt WASH
2 ea. 90541-09101; Cushion
2 ea. 90541-09080; Cusion
1 ea. 64711-24171-BO; Matt, Lug.
1 ea. 64716-24080-BO; Cover, Lug.
1 ea. 64771-24041-BO; Cover, Spa.
1 ea. 42668-14060; Label, com.
This even includes the Warning decal for the spare and is all-inclusive, and is in the color GREY.
I carry a blanket too (and several pairs of latex gloves) in case of emergency. The balnket can be used to wrap a tire that goes flat to carry it home to keep things clean... highly reccomended.
It took about 40 mimutes to do the retrofit, and was very easy. I now breath MUCH easier when I am out in the "sticks".....

I know this was propably asked allready and I'm sorry for asking again.
Is there a toyota spare tire that I can buy cheap from the dealer or an older one I can buy from a salvage yard and put in that grooved space in the trunk where the sc430 spare goes? I mean I can wrap it up in a grey cloth bag and secure it with a bungee cord. Who is going to see it in the trunk?
Please tell me what model toyota will fit and where you would reccomend I get it from?
Thanks everyone
