Auto Seat Retractor after shutoff
Hi folks. I'm new here. I have a 2008 SC430. There have been a couple of times that when the steering wheel retracted up after turning off the car, the seat also retracted all the way back. I can't seem to find the setting to make this happen all the time. Nor can I find anything about this in the Owner's Manual. Anyone know about this? It makes getting in/out easier. Thanks.

I have a 2002 and I don't think any year (2001-2010) SC430 have the AutoSeat roll back. Yes, the steering wheel does move up and out of the way to a "stored" position, but I do not believe the seat does something similar. Other Lexus models do, but not with the SC430. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi ShawnOK,
Thanks for your reply. i'd love to hear if anyone else has ha this happen or knows about this as a feature on the SC430. It's OK if it was just a fluke, I love the car. I have a fabulous 2015 IS250 as well and bought the SC430 for a fun car. I find I drive the SC430 most of the time now!

i am pretty sure Shawn is correct about the Auto seat retractor, none of these cars have it. Is it possible you hit the seat memory button on the door?
also, an auto seat retractor would be very dangerous to a person who was in the back seat...keeping in mind it would have to be a very small person like a child.

Bgw, you just gave the answer. If you want automatic seat retraction. Set one memory button to your driving position. Then set the second one to the retracted position. Not totally automatic, but automatic enough.

My sentiments as well! Was at the dealer last month and as they did the walk around the service manager commented the car looked like new inside (2006 with 93K miles, 3rd owner, purchased from dealership in 2013, 5th Lexus all others were LS). The checker commented that unless one were a gorilla, why shouldn't it look like new. The service manager then replied "Yeah, but you know how these SC 430 owners are." I thought to myself, "you got that right!"
