I hate getting into any kind of accident (as I'm sure is true with anyone), but especially when it could have been avoided. The gal if front of me turned right and I was following her. For unexplainable reasons she braked partially through the turn. Unfortunately, I had just turned my head to see if anyone was coming and ended up hitting her. The only damage on either car was my headlight washer cover. Just the perfect angle, I guess. Searching the forum I found this thread and unbelievably the Ebay link, not only still worked, but also was an active listing. BUT, this link shows it only for the 02 to 05 models. Mine is an 06. Anyone know if this cover will fit an 06, or is this another thing they changed in that model year?

Thanks!

Nope. You need this part number 85044-24020xx and then find the correct color- (replace xx with the code for your color) for your 2006 car. The eBay link is part 85381-24010.

I ordered a replacement cover from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale, AZ today. They advised the part was changed in 06, but after seeing your responses and seeing the Ebay auctions, I'm doubtful they changed. It may be the part number changed to accommodate a new coloring scheme. It appears the actual part is the same. In any case, Bell is suppose to send me a PayPal invoice as soon as they receive it (2-3 days). I'll update when/if I learn anything new.

Really appreciate the part numbers and links.

The front bumper cover did change somewhat from the 02-05 versions, and of course there were different colors. I don’t know if those changes in the bumper cover changed the radius enough to make a real difference. But since the headlamps changed in 06 too, this may have been the reason for the part number change.

I paid Bell Lexus Invoice today for $27.72 ($24.97 for part & $2.75 for shipping). Part number is 85044-24020-D1 (D1 is for Matador Red Mica). I'll post a follow-up once part arrives.

I received the part from Bell Lexus today. It looked great and took about 5 minutes to install. The stem pulls out (by hand) about 4-5 inches. I put a towel on the bumper. I used a pair vice-grip pliers, adjusted appropriately, to grasp the mechanism to hold it extended (rested on the towel). The vice-grips grasp a rubber protective shield, so no chance of damage. There is a metal "U" shaped clip that pops right off with a flat-bladed screw driver. Underneath where the metal clip was are two flat prongs need to be pried up over the insert (the piece that is going to pop out and be replaced). I used two small flat-bladed screw drivers - these seem to wedge into place freeing up my hands. I then could grasp the broken "tube" and pull it out. It's secured by a rubber gasket o-ring and pops free with very little effort. Once that broken piece has popped out, the new piece simply pushes into place (the 0-ring causes it to pop into place), locking into the two flat prongs/clips. That's it! Easy-peasy. Hold onto the mechanism while you remove the vice-grips and let it slide back into place. Mine retracted with a gentle action.

Part number is listed above and the part is called "NOZZLE, SUB-ASSY, HEA"

Thanks for the follow-up and repair tips. But you didn’t say if you thought the part was different from the 02-05 version.

Default Video of SC430 washer cover installation

Hey, I know this is an old post, but it was one of the two I found on this forum that helped me figure out how to replace the washer cover on our 2002 SC430 after someone backed into it in a parking lot at just the right angle. Like mentioned above, I found it hard to figure out what part I had to replace based on the diagrams because not many show the back of the washer plate and how it is connected to the washer spout.

So... here's a link to a quick video I made that will hopefully give you a good view and show how quickly you can replace this part yourself for anyone who runs across this thread in the future.
