Another radio door cover stuck open

Plug the cable back in, making sure it sits. Push the button, if the door does not close, unplug the connector and check the voltage at the connector. If the voltage is not present then either you have bad connector, bad switch or bad fuses. I am willing to bet you have a bent pin. Good luck.

My door is intermittent but once it stops working it stays down.
I've found the fuse is also the cig lighter fuse.
Replaced the door button and worked for awhile but now back to intermittent
and with no rhyme nor reason as to what causes it. I've taken the
wood center console out and remove the button, which is not easy,
from the back and it works fine. When i put the wood console back
up against the bottom of the wood door it sometimes but not always
stops working. Had it out and button and door worked fine. Replaced the center
console and it worked a few more times then quit. Manually shoved the
door up and it quickly returns down but sometimes not if I turn key off and on.
There may be some complex fail safe. If the door is open and you turn the key
off the door will still go down with the button just once. Pulling and pushing
on the button wires has no effect. This working or not makes no sense.
Could it be a failing capacitor?

aka Jeff? I would like to buy your bad door unit when your done? I want to see if I can do some minor reverse engineering on one. See what makes it tick. Can we work something out in the future? Your convenience of course.
