With so many new SC recent owners, back to my favorite topic..

Do you park a football field away when you drop your car off ?

No, I just don't feel like it. So far so good but I suppose a ding will happen at some point.

I usually do. I just recently went against that predilection and ended up with a $140.00 bill for PDR on a ding a few inches forward of the gas tank lid. And that didn't fix the small clear coat blemish either. I wasn't happy when I saw that! 🤬

I just don't understand that, but it happens. So you just do the best you can and accept the rest.

Here is a picture of my Audi S5, I am parked across the street from the mall.

Here is a picture of the parking taken a few years back, that is my gray Tundra. You can clearly see additional spots in both pics.

I am always tempted to leave a "suggestion" advising them not to park next to me

Personally I would have parked one spot over, so you can get as close to the curb as possible. Providing any a-hole that still wants to park next to you more room to swing there door wide and not hit you. I have a dash camera that alerts me if my car was bumped either by accident or by someone hitting the door. If I get in and hear that my car was hit, I look around for any accident damage, if I don't see any then I open my doors wife before I leave.

I don't know why but that picture reminds me of this other picture I posted some years ago on FB.

I will admit I find it HILARIOUS how people will almost crawl out of the sunroof if they see you inside the car and need to get out.

Ran two returns today in the old girl. That is how far I parked away from everyone, you can barely see her front peeking out.

A few feet closer of her parked far away from everyone else at Lowes

Glad to see nobody decided they needed to park next to me.

Do you “ still” park your car away from civilization?

Nope, not me. Despite that I love my SC but here in Little Saigon areas, I’m lucky if there is a parking space available. Good thing is I rarely take the SC out for errands. The RAV4 instead.

One of my friends spotted my car parked outside of Target, parked well away from others. He saw I'm still in the car and decided to mess with my being protective of the car. So, he intentionally pulled his car right up alongside, inches away from the driver's door. Expecting to see me annoyed that some assh*Ie would intentionally park so damn close, he looked in my car triumphantly. It was neither me nor my car. Oh! *****!

I heard about his prank the next time he saw me.

No matter what I'm driving or where I'm at I always try to park in the last spot on the right. Then should somebody park right next to me, chances are good its a "driver only" vehicle so nobody exits next to my car and chances of a door ding are diminished.
