sc 430 power steering fluid type
I want to change my power steering fluid as I noticed its a little low, so seems like good time to change out partially, what kind should I get, toyota or a synthetic?

Just got my SC430 from Florida and used synthetic (safe for Toyotas). But, when I had it dropped off at the dealer for an overall checkup they noticed a leak at the reservoir and replaced the hoses and clamps. So definitely get it checked out; because of the location it leaks on the alternator and will eventually cause it to go bad. It's a problem area on the GS400 as well. I've had the return line from the reservoir replaced twice! I check the level weekly in both vehicles - if it moves even a little there is a leak someplace.

Toyota ATF T-IV, as recommended.

I use Valvoline MaxLife ATF in the transmission and power steering it meets or exceeds manufactures recommended Dexron ATF and it is about $18 a gallon shipped free from Walmart.
i ordered three gallons the other day and to my surprise, FedEx delivered it the next day and it was Sunday!!!

Dexron III standard is equal to T-IV ATF by Toyota. To be safe, we use T-IV by Toyota.

For the SC, T-IV is the specified tranny fluid.

I have used a couple of different brands of Dexron III to fill the PS system reservoir with no issues.
