David ...

Nice wheels, but what caught my attention is your front license plate holder. It doesn't look like the piece of crap that Lexus (or at least my Lexus dealer) offers and it looks like it's attached top and bottom. Is it?
I've already been "spoken to" by a trooper about my missing plate. I don't mind mounting one, as long as I can find a decent mounting device.

I ran for about 3 weeks with out a front plat before a Maryland state trooper stopped me out side of DC with a warring. In any case, the front plate mount is the one supplied by Lexus. I have not seen any others so I can’t tell you if it is different from other parts of the country or other years.

Thanks, David

I enlarged and lightened your pic to get a more detailed look at the holder - it looks the same as the one they gave me, ie, it wraps only the top and an inch or so on each side of the plate. I think Lexus should have provided a holder that matches the contour of the bumper.

I think all states that call for a front plate should do away with the requirment.

I've never had the front plates on, no holes and no plates. Besides, cops are usually too busy checking out the rest of the car and running my plates to notice the lack of front plates.

A few days ago, on my way to civilization, I came upon an LEA checkpoint; northbound manned by troopers; southbound by the Sheriff's deputies.

On my way north, the trooper looked me over and told me I had better get some plates on the front of my car. I said, "You're not going to make me drill holes in this car, are you?" He just smiled and silently mouthed the words, "I know, I know".

On the return trip, the deputies didn't notice anything but the car. "What IS it?" and "Beeyooteeful!!" were their only comments. Love those deputies!

That looks very sharp. Love the wax job. have the same color combo. My runflats have 7800 miles on them and they are making such noise. This is getting very tempting. I am also getting mod fever.

Looks GREAT
