Parking bulb dropped into housing!
Hello all
was replacing parking bulb with LED and it was looser than I realized and fell to the bottom of the housing…ugh!
besides removing the bumper, is there any trick to remove? The bulbs diameter was almost as big as the opening on housing… not a good thing!

Tried grabber tool, no go… I think tape on end of wire would more than likely just get stuck in housing… the housing narrows down at the bottom which adds more difficulty and a vacuum might get it to the opening but removing from that point would be tough… appreciate your input

I had the same problem in the past. I left it there for months until I was doing a number of other lighting upgrades. Had to have the bumper removed, took the lamp housing off and shook the housing upside down until the bulb came out. I feel for you. A number of us have been in this position. It is irritating until you can finally remove the silly bulb.

I tried but the LED bulb is not a magnetic material…absolutely frustrating …put incandesce Bulbs back in… I have never removed the bumper and I guess this is the only solution to pull the light housing assembly out and shake it out through the opening …what a pain in the *** of a design for replacing bulbs!
Thanks for your thought

don't need to do that. I had this problem... and I wrote about it on this forum. Specifically, wrote "PLEASE make sure to seat the LED bulb properly into the bulb holder!". I used a drive in car wash bay's vacuum to got behind the light. I bought a $13 washer hose that fit well into the bulb hole and other end connected to the larger diameter vacuum hose. Then I had to hit the outer housing with my fist a few times to get the bulb to "jump." At some point and some hard work the vac sucked the bulb out. Needless to say, the bulb was gone into the vacuum abyss but at least it wasn't in the housing. Since it only goes to say, DO NOT HIT THE LAMP TOO HARD OR YOU WILL CRACK THE CLEAR LENS. Also, maybe try using the search feature with some key words on the project you're attempting/problem you're having. Lots of things have been posted repeatedly to help learn from our mistakes as well as what to expect and the safeguards when getting into a project (ie. same problem you're having with the LED and ECU/dash error).

After two hours and scraped up hands that LED finally came out.........thanks to Shawn's technique I used a dishwasher drain hose attached to my shop vac and with divine intervention it finally came out!!!!!! Please be sure, if you guys switch out your parking bulbs to LED, that they are for exterior use, the seller finally admitted they sent me the wrong bulbs and that was the cause for intermittent lighting!!!! I did use Shawn's suggestion and LED choice from IJMTOY and they are perfect......a big THANKS to Shawn!!!!!!!!
