Nice writeup!
thanks for posting in my thread!
here is the link to my seat thread.
maybe Mandyfig or VTTIBob could merge the threads...you would obviously be first!

BTW, my seat warmers work fine...just a little slower due to the added seat padding.

The color cashmere wasn't listed on their site, does anyone know which will match? Lark, Ivory or Ecru white?

Also any experience with perforated seats?

I would need to get a local upholsterer to install. Do you think they would be fine with me bringing my own leather?

I have a casual friend who is an upholsterer. When I asked him about new seat covers, he encouraged me to order them pre-manufactured on line and he would put them in for me. The most time consuming part for him is to sew the leather and making sure it fits. He would much prefer to just fit the covers for me. He told me it is about $75 a seat.

Default Leather Interior

Local- where is local?
Louetta Upholstery in Spring Texas did my 2002 SC 430 custom upholstery- all hand cut, Hand sewn- two tone (black bolsters) ecru vase- Black arm rests and console- worth every bit of the $3000.00 I spent.

wish I could figure out how to send pix.

now have a 2007 Pebble Beach addition that I need a front seat repair.

Again- where is local I am sure he could do it- getting leather is a problem- Lexus won’t provide so he uses Jaguar leather-thicker.

If you look in BGW's leather thread, he lists the guy he bought his leather from. The leather supplier is out of Houston.

Great write-ups above - thanks for the time and effort!

Taking driver’s seat bottom only to an upholsterer to have the leather replaced. I’ve successfully removed the seat from the car. Removed the plastic buttons (and related screws) for the seat control switches, unsnapped the left and right covers by the seat back hinges - but I am unable remove the carpeted plastic trim piece across the front. Can anyone provide a little additional detail on dislodging this?

Thanks in advance.

I think that he is referring to the carpet on the front of the seats, as seen in BGW's post # 26. (I'd reference your pictures but they are all blurry to me now for some reason.) It starts a few inches below the top of the seat and goes down about 5" toward the floor.

Got it, it was the screw “under the tape”. I was prying on the white plastic tabs - which in retrospect wasn’t necessary 🤔

Got it - yes the resolution on many of the photos have been downgraded - pity.

Thank you again for the above posts and pix - very generous! I invested ~$200 in the four volume Lexus SC430 shop manuals - the explanations can be vague, coupled with the occasional omitted drawing.

Took the seat bottom to a high end upholstery shop today - many very rare, exotic car$! Seat will be ready in four weeks - just in time to pull the car out of winter storage!

How did the seats come out from the professional shop?
