Nav System Question

All the Way
The NAV database is on a DVD. Old technology systems used CD ROM which held about only 10% of the data on a DVD. Such systems required almost a dozen CDs for the entire country. The Lexus NAV system, like most modern ones introduced in the last two years, use a DVD system which has the entire USA and Canada on the same disc.
For this reason, the answer to your question is yes, you can program a trip from anywhere in the country to anywhere else in the country. It's quite amazing. I've made several trips of over 1,000 miles crossing many states which would have required several CDs using the old systems.
Also, if you want a detour or an intermediate destination, you can add up to 4 or 5 "way points" between your start point and your destination, in case you want your route to take you through a particular city that the system would otherwise by-pass.
It's quite flexible and very helpful, much more so than I thought it would be when I first got the car.
Happy motoring.
