Your wheels/tires don't appear to be OEM.

What size are the tires?
What was the OEM tire size?

There are calculators online that can give us a numeric difference if we plug in original vs aftermarket size. We don't have a base line of what the speedometer read before so we are guessing at this point to try and isolate the issue.

The speedometer was accurate before I sent it in and has been for the last 6 years that I've had upgraded tires and wheels. I would have noticed and remedied any issue if I was in motion and the speedometer was staying at 0.

The car can be driven without the cluster with no ill effect.

Ok I will mail on Wed. Please check your personal messages on this forum. I wanted to ask your name so I can mark it on the repair form and direct the tech or whomever accepts my cluster to speak with you so we can iron out all these kinks. thanks .

Hmmm ... that’s quite a statement. Except miles are not registered on the odometer, or if the car overheated, or if the CEL illuminated for some important reason. The latter two would or could have an ill effect and you would not know it.

He could always plug-in an OBDII wireless reader and use the app on a phone or tablet for all of the readings while the cluster is out of the car.

You’re probably correct and the odds are in your favor. But that wasn’t the point of my statement.

Is your company willing to indemnify the owner if something DID go wrong? If not, in my opinion, and that’s all it is, you have no business making such a statement in the first place.

Well if his car has no mechanical issues that would likely rule out any short term failures. CEL's are generally only for emissions related issues, nothing that would signal an imminent failure of the engine or anything mechanically, and we could adjust his odometer when the cluster is here to compensate for any driving he does without the cluster.

Drove the car today to and from work, only 4 miles to and from work. Finger crossed I don't get into any accident or have any of the other issues debated above. I did notice that without the cluster, the "Miles Remaining, Avg MPG, and Avg MPH" are not displayed on the AC Cluster. I can't state at this time if any error lights are thrown, but hopefully it will not be another issue to deal with when I plug the cluster back into the car again (I usually disconnected battery before disassembly and reassembly). I don't think I will need the odometer adjusted, as it's such a small amount of miles for the 3 days of work I will drive without the cluster. Furthermore, I really hope this gets fixed completely and accurately. Tanin has really tried to make things right, which goes a long way. I'm sure these minor issues are not typical of their service as it seems like they offer great products, innovative ideas, and super customer service. I just hope to get it back as soon as possible and that it has these minor issues corrected. I will report back with any updates. Will mail out the cluster first thing tmrw morning. Stay tuned!

Just took mine in to the lexus dealer because of some dead segments and my service warranty is actually replacing the whole thing! Everything else works, just can't read a few of the numbers because of the dead segments. Couldn't believe they would replace the whole thing AND at a price over $2000.
