What kind of Transmission fluid did you put in it? In 2005/2006 Lexus switched to a special formula

Yeah, same thing I found. I think that means it is a solenoid issue. Possibly due to the fluid change. Think he can just flush and fill his fluid with the right stuff, or did I read somewhere you can't mix the stuff?

My 2008 Lexus SC430 has 91K miles. It's recommended fluid change, no flush. I used Transmission Fluid Toyota 00289-ATFWS

Oh great, you did use world standard. One more thing we can check off as a possible problem.

Ok, back to your original problem...

I would clear the codes and see if all three of them come back. Also, you showed 7 codes, but it looks like there should be 10. What were the other three?

I recommend to everyone that's even a bit tech savvy, get a OBDII scan tool like BAFX Products 34t5 Bluetooth OBDII Scan Tool for Android Devices (or like, this one is 20 bucks on Amazon Stay away from the $5 blue cheap ones on eBay) and install Torque on your phone. You can check and or reset all your codes and even run some diagnostics.

I did a water pump, timing belt, brake, and radiator leaked replacement.
we were hoping you could tell us if the problem began shortly after the fluid change.

also, did you do the fluid change yourself?
if not, who did it and how did they do it?

or just have TechStream.

if you plug an OBDII Device into your car, you may have the VSC light on all the time...I know this is true for the 2002-2005.

Can you tell us what is wrong with your car again?

Does it run/drive? Is it just that the check engine light is on? (The other lights come on to make the CHECK ENGINE light more noticeable)

Steve at luxury motor cars the luxlink guy mentioned to me that if you run the WS-6 trans 90 thousand miles without a fluid change the solenoids will stick. CEL light will come on. He stated a trans back flush will free up the sticking solenoids.

he is in Monrovia, ca.

He reccomends dropping the trans pan and therefore changing the fluid like the early models required.

i had him change my trans fluid at 20k? Miles when he was installing my gen three lux link.

according to him the non service in the manual is incorrect. The CEL light is the proof it seems

how many miles do you have on your car?
how many quarts did he replace?

as Caflashbob said, not changing the fluid can cause problems. I completely agree.

if you car has high miles and has only had the fluid drained and refilled...about 3-4qts, that is not enough.
have it done again...the best way in my opinion is to remove the transmission cooler line from the radiator and let the car pump the fluid out, refill and repeat this process until the fluid comes out bright red.

it will most likely correct any issues with the transmission. If the problems persist, then you may need an overhaul.
in that case, I would look at a salvage yard vs rebuild due to cost.

i know your transmission has a different drain refill procedure vs the 2002-2005, but the concept is still the same.
i did a family members 2010 Camry transmission the way I described and all is good...I did it 15k miles ago.
NOTE: I used Valvoline MaxLife ATF, $18 gal at Walmart. It meets or exceeds Toyota WS.
