Default 02 Tail/Brake light socket type???

Does anyone know the Tail/Brake light socket type for an '02 SC? CK/Non CK, ETC.

I want to see if I can switch the bulbs to the Sylvania OSRAM ZEVO LEDS but not sure if they will work.

I know I will need a decoder to eliminate any light out warnings.

Thanks in advance.

Please read this... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc430-2nd-gen-2001-2010/771516-angel-eyes-for-tail-lights-diy-photos-and-video.html. No matter what I tried I could not get LEDs to work properly in the tail lights. Even testing with resistors. Either I got dash warning light or short out tail light function .

You might try Sylvania’s automotive bulb guide to check compatibility.....https://www.sylvania-automotive.com/index.jsp

This is what I did when I switched over to the LED tails, I covered the "light off" sign on the dashboard with black tape, so it does not bother me. Very simple operation to take of the dash indicator.

thanks Bob I did do that. They list the 7443r which has a red LED. I went with regular 7443 white because it will be brighter, no sense in having a red led behind a red lens.

i dont trust the guide that much as they were completely wrong with the dome lights.

I guess I will pull apart and test the socket.

Thanks

I would be interested in how to take that off.

You can usually work the bezel trim and the “plastic glass” off without removing the steering wheel, just the cover assembly.
And just to ad my 2cents worth, I just prefer the 06-10 tails to the older 02-05 tails.

There is no need to pull the cluster once the “glass” is opened up. Some, as mentioned above, just put a small square of black electrical tape to hide the indicator out light.
