ask any of them...and a low mileage version is very affordable.
they do have a V6, but it is certainly not a V8...plus the Toyota reliability.

I just had a look at the 2008 black Camry Solara convertible for $13195. You get a reliable convertible with a bit more tech than the SC430 and 2 useable rear seats for short distances, and it is cheaper. I showed my 17yr old daughter the SC430 and the Solara and she chose the Solara based on features and looks. She didn't care about the V8 v V6 issue. Give your daughter a choice of one or the other and then fine tune. She might appreciate being in the process despite you losing some of the surprise factor. She has to own and drive it !!!!!
