Noise with New Timing Belt/WP Kit

As posted previously in another thread I bought an OEM timing belt kit from a Lexus dealership. Certain items such as this, sensors, etc., I will not use aftermarket parts for. This noise is very new to me and since Lexus2000 has experience with Gates belts in the past, he could very well be correct that the aftermarket belt is the source of the noise. It's a very individual decision, but if it was me, keep in mind I don't like noises, rattles, etc., I would give it a little bit of time and if the noise did not go away, I would probably replace the belt and pulleys with OEM parts.

That doesn't sound bad, if you were a tech you must've heard much worse, know I have. You can put a stethoscope on the housing of each accessory, by the idler etc and listen for any grinding. No way would I be redoing the belt for a minor noise like that. If it's gonna go it'll get much, much worse.

Was the noise on the Accord similar to what I am hearing?

yes, it concerned me at first...I didn’t do the work so I called my mechanic and he said it would go away...it did.
i did the SC430 with my son and we had no issues...
both cars are running fine!
i need to do the 2007 SC430 now...I think I will purchase the Aisin kit this time.
BTW, I replace every part that is removed...drive belts, hoses, thermostat etc.

i did replace everything and even drained the block coolant. The prior owners never drove it and although it has perfect service history I wanted to change everything.
I guess it would help if I registered it and drove it.
thanks for all the help!

Give it a few days before doing anything rash to see if it works it’s way quiet...but some poor Lexus designer just slapped his forehead like Homer Simpson and said, DOH! when he heard that.
Not trying to be mean here, but that sound ain’t the “relentless pursuit of perfection”.
