Battery dead after 2 weeks in the garage ?

When you park your car in your garage, turn off the headlights all the way (not auto on/off) and manually lock your doors (don't use the FOB)
Since you are not using the alarm and the sensor is not looking for dark (to turn on your headlights), you can get more time off your battery between use.
I don't know why turning off the head lights work, but many people on this board say it does.

Jonas, it’s so simple: raise the hood, clip the Red alligator to the pos terminal, the Black to Neg terminal, plug your tender to wall socket, low the hood, leave crack open, then you’re done.

After a 100 miles trip, the battery is now fully charged. Man, didn’t realized going down the freeway At 85mphs can be so much fun
Battery tender and now the SC is back in the cave for now..

Discharging a flooded cell battery lowers its cycle life by a lot each time it happens, AGM batteries have double the cycle life at least and can take the partial discharges better
i had mine checked for CCA capacity and the run down had hurt it

not sure I understand your answer if it is better or worse with
a battery tender to keep the battery fully charged at all times
but if the SC is slowly getting the battery discharged weekly
from the on board computers, then isn’t the answer
a battery tender as it will not allow the battery to ever get
fully drained..

or use a AGM battery and other than months long non use never open the hood?
i did turn off the headlights and manually locked the doors today when I put the sc away and put its dust cover on it.

Guys
so just came back from O reiilly
ane they sat the battery load test
is at 12.54 volt batter test which means
it is good but
the alternator is at 13.6 at idle
they are recommending a alternator replacement
as the alternator will get worse at 13.6
what do you guys think? Is the alternator
at 13.6 means it is not a specs and going bad
?

You need to make the measurements under three conditions:
- With car off, just battery voltage no load, no charge DONE
- With engine running, but everything switched off that can be switched off (should be north of 13.3VDC DONE
- With engine running ad everything that uses power turned on. high beams, HVAC, blower fan max, bun warmers, audio, wipers, rear defrost, ....
If battery is Above 13VDC on test 3 your alternator is fine. If battery is below 12VDC on test 1 the battery is suspect.
with the info you’ve posted your alternator seems fine, but you really need to do test #3 to see what happens when the alternator is under maximum load and under higher than idle circumstances. Under max load at idle you could see a drop, but then a recovery, i.e. lights dim monumentality then recover.
Remember its the alternators job to charge the battery and run the load as your driving.

Guys
I just visited my local Lexus dealer and the technician
confirmed battery is good and within specs
alternator with load test is at 93AMPs and also
within spec. . Lexus IS saying
I need to drive the car more each week.
I do only about 1,750K a year and
before I bought my SC, I see the previous
owner also had a battery tender cable on
the car.
Arggh...
I guess battery tender is what is needed

Here are a few dumb questions for you guys
1- one member said” manually locking the two
doors “ help without the key fob. How does this help?
2- if you do park outside, seems like a bad idea
as the alarm will not be armed . I happen to park in the garage
and this idea just just seem crazy to get around the drain
3- if you are traveling and you are at the airport
or away on vacation with the car without electricty for the battery tender
, does everyone have to disconnect the battery each time
or resort to a jump for a drained battery
4- the battery drain seems like a bad design in the SC
5 - This is the first time my SC drained and went dead in 1/12 year
of ownership and with my other SC, this never happen but then
again I only put about 1,500 miles on this SC in a year
6- final question, do you guys just leave the battery tender on
plugged in 7/24 as soon as you park your car
