Default Glass between rear head rests

Hey All recently purchased a 2003 and was wondering if this is supposed to retract with the top closed. (thought I saw a video of it down) Getting the windows tinted soon and know it won't be easy for the installer. Can't find any info on this.

it is static, but very easy to remove, takes about five minutes with the top down.

read this thread...first few pictures show you how to remove the plexiglass

You don’t need to remove the wind deflector for window tinning. Don’t tint the deflector, it’s hard to see behind at night.

not planning on tinting the wind deflector (wondered what it's called). I just thought it would be easier to install the tint with it out of the way

Easier would be to open the roof half way until the glass is vertical then stop. There's a balance point where it will stay and not shut/open. That's how most of us clean the inside of the rear window.

Shawn has the best etching with lighting I have ever seen on the plexiglass...I am sure he could post a picture.

Here ya go. A custom shop that does vinyl wraps etched it into pexiglass for me. I then purchased a blacked out LED strip and mounted it under the pexiglass. Easy install.

No sorry, I don't. Been about 5 years but I'm sure I used ebay. Look for one that's darkened compared to the clear ones that show the actually LED chips. I prefer the blackened one so it's not such an eye sore.

thanks JC again. The installer did just that and it looks great. My Lexus is black and with the dark tint I couldn't be happier. One of these days I'll post a pic of the Floridan SC.

Following in your footsteps Shawn,, just took my wind deflector off yest to get a new one cut out and have to take it to a trophy shop or something to get the etching done. Thinking about doing the same as you (although I don't wanna completely copy you) or maybe get the Lexus symbol and put SC430 next to it instead of Lexus. Your's is still the sickest one Ive ever seen, hopefully I can give you a little competition lol.

Also,,, what is that circular thing with the antenna looking piece on it with the wire? Is that for the LED strip?
