hello,
i just did the navtool install. Everything was fine during the test runs. But when I put everything together, the navigation screen does not open upon starting the key. I can see from underneath that the screen itself briefly turns on with the Lexus logo but then it turns off. When I leave the battery disconnected for a long period, the navigation opens upon opening the keys but then it turns off, this time I can press the map/voice to bring it back up, when I turn off it turns off normally but next start, won’t open again. I can’t press the map/voice button to make it open. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks in advance

Unfortunately I dont think thats it. I cant use any buttons to turn it on. nothing works. It might be a loose wire like you said but nothing looks particularly loose.
I happened to have another nav screen assembly, that one does the same thing/doesnt work too. All fuse/relays seem fine but ill try to swap out some relays tomorrow and see what happens.
Something is preventing the navigation from working and I cant figure out what it is. I should also mention that for some reason the car's battery was dead (maybe a door was left open) and it did not have power for a good few days at least. Not sure if this is relevant at all.
Soo lost on this to be honest. so frustrating. I think ill disconnect the navtool and see what happens as a last resort.

Sooo I disconnected everything one by one and checked. as crazy as it may sound, it was the vais tech SL3U-L that was in no way connected to the navigation screen was causing the issue. the vais tech was really hot to the touch and once I disconnected it from the stereo, everything worked! so this is prob a defective unit, the company said their units are defective 1/10000 and I do believe them. This just happened to be that one time.
If youre having issues and have installed a vais tech recently, check that!!!!

Good to hear. I don’t have the vais tech, but will keep in mind.
