Of course the SC430 has aged well. In fact, it looks better now than when it was introduced. The SC430 has a "timeless" design, unlike some of the ugly vehicles rolling off the line now, no need to mention them. I feel the SC430 will keep getting better looking as it ages and the "edgier" designs get worse and worse.

I've had many cars during my younger years....Porsche 911's, 928S4, 944's, M3's and probably the best looker at that time was my Nissan 3000ZX...well in my opinion anyway.
Now I'm more "relaxed" and have a Lexus GS300 (2005-6) and also NX300h (2016).......
I remember when I first saw the SC...and frankly I hated it....especially the original wheels. It looked more like something which should be floating (as I read later was actually part of the design).....however, in my later years, I'm starting to like it, and it seems to age gracefully. I actually test drove one (2005) the other day, and was everything I would want in a cabrio...soft ride, enough space, and spot for kids or even the dog in the back...and enough power, though it wouldn't probably blow your mind away.
Anyway....I'm planning to get one and keep it until I go under myself

I do not know what came over me, but I de-badged it (leaving just the “L”). Now I am thinking of putting them back (SC430 and LEXUS – these are sitting on top of my Engine Cover!).

As the years go by , I think there will be less SC 430 on
the road or at least the SC that are well cared for .

If you have an SC that was never in an accident ,
low mileage and pampered through its life, the
430 should still be in high demand.

10 years from now, we should all revisit this exact
thread and see how the SC has held up

I just had the timing belt , idlers and the serpentine belt replaced by the Lexus dealer in Berwick Australia , the car had a recall for the air bag cylinder so at 92,000 klms and 10 years old i thought i may as well get the work done , couldn't be happier with the service , the total cost for the belt and idler replacement was just over $1000 AUS

I'm trying to find my mother a later model one myself--they are hard to find and they retain value like a MF. Luckily she can afford to wait until the right one comes around. Trading her 2001 SLK230 which has been actually a shockingly reliable car.

Well the sc430 just got another compliment at a gas station. Costco gas on the weekend. Gas station supervisor comes over and starts remarking on the car. "What was Lexus thinking when they stopped making this car ? Beautiful. Love the protection package you have on the front and you have really nice drilled slotted brake rotors too. " I have clear bra on the front bumper and hood. He gave me a big thumbs up. This is still trumped by the DMV inspector who wanted to exchange her newer BMW X6 for my SC when I went for state inspection in 2018 though.

Yes the SC ages well.

I have a 2005 pebble beach bought new . I live in the north east and i ONLY drive the car when i can drop the top. The car was my 60 th birthday present to me
I now have after 14 years of ownership and 8,149 miles never been in rain or snow is of course garaged in controlled environment. I do drive the car even if temp is cold
and i drive it just to keep everything moving it does sit on a battery tender and i am on my second battery [ six years ] I love this car mods I have made brings it up to modern accessories and my signature line tells what iI have done to it. My plan is this is my forever car unless lexus decides to make car that exceeds my current model
As a long time driver of this car I can tell you many people remark WHAT CAR IS THAT . I plan in the future to do Modesto ceramic coating with paint correction. I am tired of trying to keep the black diamond metallic paint waxed. So ceramic coating will give me what I want . Expensive but in my opinion worth it. Any one tried the modesto system

SC friends

As the SC ages, I think the SC430 will
remain “ timeless “ as long as it doesn’t get
too “ Bling out” by all the upgrades you see on the road.

I think the car will be ageless if the new owners
can keep it as original as possible.

I don’t think the car was meant to have wide wings
spoilers, Big wheels/rims and body kits etc.

Do you remember the “ Gold Kit “ everywhere on the car
that were popular Back in the 90’s ? Now a gold kit I think is not as Appeling
in my opinion

I’m with you Jonas. The SC looks best in its original design.

Well my only deviation is that I have Front and Rear spacers on the wheels.

And I de-badged Rear.

Now I am thinking of reinstalling the badges...the "Lexus" and the "SC430." Should I?

Hey Mandy

Personally, I would keep the car as original as possible.
My best friend has a “ 230 SL “ Mercedes
and the car is absolutely ageless with the original
rims and pagoda top.

With the SC, I do think they are now starting to be
actually rare as you are seeing less of them around.

I see more Tesla than a SC430 these days and
more and more casual collectors are starting
to really enjoy the SC430.

I'm proud to let people know that Lexus built the SC, especially the owners of new Lexus vehicles. Then they start asking when it was built and how old.
