My wife says that I always walk "backwards" so that I can look at my beautiful 04 whenever I go somewhere with her. I believe the SC has definitely aged well and having checked the prices for cars for sale over the 6-8 years that I have owned her, prices for reasonable or lower mileage SC's, like mine have definitely risen.
My car has been insured as a "collector car" for the past two years which cost me less than $250 a year. The requirement for me to qualify for this designation is being able to keep the car in a garage, have another car to drive on a regular basis, and to say that I only drive my car for "pleasure." No problem there obviously.
As far as mods to my car go I have done nothing to the Interior other than repair some minor cracks in the front seats and then re-coat the seats using SEM Aerosol Paint. Took my time and the Interior looks nearly new. On the Exterior I went a little wild and changed the color of my emblems to a Black Cherry color, and then "dipped" my wheels to match since the original finish on them was in really bad shape. As a treat for myself I'm scheduled to have my wheel power coated in a Black Cherry color which when you are reading this might seem a bit distasteful, but trust me, most of the comments I have gotten about the car has been on how great the black cherry color matches the light gold, champagne color of the car.
Taken before I dipped the wheels

Aging
I have owned my 2002 SC430 Indigo Ink Pearl (Blue) with Saddle (Tan) interior for 7 years now. The odometer bumped 60,000 miles in the past year. I fell in love with this car when it started production and think the design has aged beautifully. I appreciate the fit and finish of the interior which is very resistant to aging. I was delighted with the great price I paid 7 years ago. I'm 72 years old and this is my forever "toy" car. I love it.
I have had a few issues with my car. One of the roof hinges had a bad limit switch and let me tell you this is a VERY expensive repair. I innovated, buying a used part on eBay and finding an independent mechanic who was willing and able to do the work. Cost me a grand instead of almost $7,000. The speakers were bad and I easily and successfully followed the Forum instructions to re-cone the speakers.
I have been disappointed in the car's handling since I got it. The tramlining is kind of annoying. I wonder whether this is a function of the car's small wheelbase, age of the suspension or the tires. I'd appreciate thoughts on this topic.

You should consider a new thread with your handling problem. You’ll get more responses that way.

The specific tries in my signature fixed my tramlining and some of the stiff ride issues and tire road noise at some small minus of really hard cornering. 45 series tires corrected the speedo’s mph

Ok, for fun I'll jump in here, I'm a new owner (3-4 months) and am liking/loving my new to us 2004. Seems like a very solid little car and I like the punch the motor has, and like the plushness and the quiet of the hardtop convertible. We will just have to see how it all goes.
