So we arrived at our sons house Sunday and the Version 15.1 Nav update that Bob suggested arrived Monday. We completed the update with no issues. I must admit that the Nav in the 2005 SC 430 is a little lame compared to the Nav in our 2010 LS 460L. Anyway the Nav on the sons 2005 SC is now updated to the most current available. Got the son all set up for Club Lexus 2nd Gen SC 430 Forum thread and Lexus Drivers web pages. He loves the car and I must say it was in even better shape upon seeing it then it appeared in the pictures when it was at the dealership. Thanks for all the advise and help on making this addition to our Lexus Family Stable a success.

Sounds like you did your son a real solid. I'm sure that he will appreciate it more and more the longer he owns it. I'm glad that it all worked out for you.

He's 46 and retired a year ago January with 22 years on the job has his MBA and is now an Executive Director. Don't misunderstand I did not buy the car for him. I did the research having already been a Lexus owner with our 2010 LS 460L for him and found the car but he was in charge of the rest. I had watched him buy 3 BMW POS's and had being saying buy a Lexus. I stopped buying him cars on his 16th birthday after we gave him a completely restored 64 and 1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible. It's manufacturing date was 1 Aug 64.
