06 SC430 price - good or not

That sounds like a decent deal for you, if the dealer is willing to accept it. Having the 90k mile service done and having the car all checked out by a Lexus dealer will give you some peace of mind. Good luck!

Thx riknchar - we are now at final negotiations and here’s where we stand
Dealwr/Seller day Best and final is $15211 + $600 doc fee and 450 shipping
id still have the cost of 90k service (timing belt and water pump idler pulley tensioner crankshaft blah blah) - good news is my Lex Master Tech locally has agreed to do it for $1k
All in (excl ridiculous TN state/local sales tax (not the Sellers problem - lol) looks like it would be $16.261 (excl tax and title) for what seems a pretty close to mint (def “outstanding condition” ‘06 SC430 w only 83k and fresh new 90k timing belt water pump etc) in d sitBl color combo (WGC/Black)
i spoke w Seevice Advisor at Lexus Dealer in Sellers city and for $135 they will do PPI aonI would be sure before buying
leaning toward doing it and will give decision to Seller tomorrow - certainly more “want” than “need” so I never get emotional when negotiating (negotiation has been most of my career) so I can take it or leave it either way but good SCa are getting harder to find...and from all folks I know in the car biz they say SC def an “upcoming classic” with depreciation pretty much finished on an 06 so if we’ll
aintained and in good shape will always be sale-able, and some are telling me they may even start to go up a bit due to extremely low supply of good ones
anyone want to talk me on/out of it and say why?

I'll be happy to talk you into buying it lol. We got our '02 last year had it shipped from FL to NC. Love it! Just got back from a trip to the beach with the top down the entire way. The only reason we'll get rid of it is for an '06 or newer. As you mentioned '06+ in excellent condition is getting harder to find. I say go for it. Just be prepared for comments and stares everywhere you go. They don't make them like this anymore.
Edited to add: we paid $11,800 including shipping for our '02 with 104k. Not that it's for sale, but if we did I'm sure could get what we paid or more for it. It's a garage queen and '02 SC430's around here go for $12-13k.

Hey Jeff,
For the few hundred different, and if you feel the car is right for you, go for it. Think it this way, you got the Lexus SC430 for less than buying the Camry. What's the deal.

But they ain't makin any more of them quite like SC are they? that's for sure, and they are unique and cool for all the reasons the folks in this forum already know...guess closest to modern-day classic (w unique combo of reliability comfort and understated stylish good looks of anything I know...
anyway, guess that's my reason for considering (think I may be talking myself into it! lol (losing my objectivity over an SC? Oh well life short, and at 60 have worked hard to earn a few perks, so maybe should treat myself and pull the trigger...just hope I'm "marrying the right girl!"
thanks to to all here - this really is a class group of folks

Jeff, I really don't think you can go wrong with a well-maintained SC, especially if you do due diligence by having it inspected by the local Lexus dealer, and factor in the 90K mile service.
Based on your budget, I think you've found a great candidate. I know I am very happy to own my 2006 SC430. I bought it 2 years ago for $25,500, and it now has 21k miles and still smells new. I don't drive it in the rain or snow, and keep it washed, waxed, and on the battery tender in the garage most of the time. I think the prices have continued to drift lower on the SCs over the past 2 years, but at a fairly slow rate, and given how unique and semi-rare the car is, along with the still-strong following (at least on this forum), I'm confident the car will become collectible over time (especially the like-new, low-mileage ones).
Go for it!

Thx rik- have to square away car having only a valet key (not even 1 fob, so wondering what that will cost?)Lexus dealer say $200 for key fob and $100 to Program so $300 (bend over rip off price) Hopefully can get a blank fob Amazon/eBay for $40 and have licksmith etc program for $50-$75? Anyone know??
But subject to Lexus Desler Clean PPI likely making the deal tomorrow for $15,100 ($15,600 w dealer doc) incl the dealer doc fee Dealer is making $890 above his hard cost so $390 over what he has in the car plus his doc fee total $890 on a $15,600 Sale (listed at $17000) Seems fair for 06 WGC SC w only 83k mi and clean service records w int/ext as shown in pics top of thread
Still I’ll immediately have another 1k cost for timing belt water pump etc so call it $16,600...but after that with religious oil changes and normal maint should be good another 100k mi (that will last me 15 yrs if drive it 6k mi a year
i know my 99 LS just turned $108!and looks like it did on the showroom

Jeff,
DshngDaryl found a good source for a pre-cut key for under 30 dollars. You just have to do the programming yourself.
Quote from DshngDaryl:
This is who I used and was VERY happy with https://www.ebay.com/itm/PRE-CUT-LEX...EAAOSwuvla3Vwp
I took a picture of my key and they pre-cut it and sent it to me. They also sell a programming device that will program it to your car.

I don't think you'd have any trouble selling your 2006 WGC for $25-26k. But if you did, I'll bet you'd be sad...
