Seems the Maxima, Altima, and Camry are the cheapest...but Camry uses a 125 D16 and not 145 D17. My only concern is if there is a particular year? Lots of availability on the net with Maxima and Altima. Any thoughts from the gurus?

I just checked ebay and the Camry spares on there are 155 70 17
the OEM spare wheel is the 17x4T and the tire size is 145/70-17
remember, 145 is the tire footprint or 145mm wide
70 is the sidewall height or 70% of the width or footprint (145mm)
145mmX70%=101.5mm. The sidewall is 101.5mm
17 is the wheel size. 17 inches
To fit the wheel studs, it needs to have 5 bolt holes on a 114.3 mm (4.5") diameter circle; to fit the hub properly, it needs a 60.1 mm center hole diameter. This is the common size for most Asian cars, Toyota, Honda and Nissan.
The offset would be my concern.
I would personally go to a junkyard, ask them to sell you a spare and let them know you will make sure it fits on your car before you leave, if it does not you would like a different spare tire or your money back.
i am sure most, if not all salvage yards would honor that request.
better yet, borrow a friends spare and try it out!
I have the OEM spare and going with a wider or taller tire may not be a good idea because there is not much room.
Hey guys, I just found this GS430 thread on this subject and it sounds like the GS430 has the same offset as the SC430. Makes sense to me because many of the suspension parts are interchangeable.
the GS430 uses the 17x4T wheel but they put a 155/70-17 tire on the wheel.
happy hunting at the salvage yard!
check out post 34 in this thread!!! If you believe him, someone is gonna get an awesome deal on a spare tire!
Funny how no one even acknowledged his post and what he said...they all wanted that RX8 wheel... https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc4...ubstitute.html
BTW, some of you may remember that I have IS350 wheels on my 2007 SC430. They fit perfect. That also tells me that the spare that comes in the IS350 should also fit my 2007 SC430. I might just snap up that IS430 Spare that I posted from eBay...
I will wait 20 min before I decide and give someone a chance who doesn’t have a spare.
Well guys, I just ordered an IS350 spare tire. Not the one at the link I posted but I did purchase another one from the same vendor. He was asking $129 shipped and I offered him $100 shipped and he accepted.
i will let everyone know if it fits our SC430s. I think it will because the IS350 wheels on my 2007 SC430 fit great so the spare should be the same.
anyway, I will take pics, show The IS350 spare compared to the SC430 spare.
I will also show the spare on the car and do a drive around the block.
So just my thoughts on this matter. I dont think the issue is fitment of a spare. Any wheel that is has a close OEM diameter (ie original wheels were 18" and OEM spare was 17"), and must have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern (not sure if hub size of 60.1 matters). The issue was always fitting the spare in the trunk and still be able to drop the top. I am running 20" tires and have a spare but not able to drop top with spare in trunk. I usually run without the spare but have never tried to fit my spare in the trunk spare receptacle. The issue is not finding a spare but finding a spare that fits in the trunk with top dropped.

yes, what Harold said, is the tire a 145/70-17
is the wheel 17x4T
No, I'm running 20" wheels so any 17" would not suffice. I'm have an extra 20" rim that a shop marred, and purchased a replacement for me. So I'm using the marred one as a spare but I don't keep it in the trunk, b'c then I can't drop the top. As I was saying, any 5x114.3 bolt pattern within spec diameter of the set of wheels being used should be fine. If you're looking for a true "doughnut" that fits in the spare trunk "well," then the mission becomes difficult. I have not tried to drop my 20" into the spare "well," but I doubt it will fit.
