It's average since last reset. The PO in Florida never reset it (he didn't even know how) and the car was at 19.2 for its lifetime. To my knowledge that would have been at least 75% city driving.

I don't rely on the MPG shows on the cluster.
That's exactly how I do it. And, surprisingly, this is the only car I've ever had where the cluster mpg matches the calculation, within 0.1 mpg. All my other cars were, shall we say, optimistic...

That's good to know. I've never paid attention to the cluster MPG, but now, I will compare the MPGs of both methods.
The only complain I have for the SC (and my ex-LS) is the MPG (17-20 mpg). My daily car is an 07 Corolla and it gets above 25 mpg/city and nearly 30 mpg for highway., My wife's Prius, gets above 40 mpg/city and nearly 50 mpg/highway .Luckily, I only drive my SC around 100 miles/week, so it's that bad.
The gas price in Cal (Costco) is currently at $3.49/gallon. I'm glad I'm not living in Europe where the gas price is double or more.

The gas mileage could be better but don't forget that the SC has twice the engine of the Corrolla and is definitely more fun/spirited.

My SC is not a daily driver, have not really paid attention on the mileage I get, nor the frequency of gas fill ups. I simply just enjoy riding the SC.

The current price near me, and it's about the cheapest gas I can find in Ontario, is $1.41/L for premium. That works out to $5.37/US gallon in $CDN, which is $4.03 USD.
Funny, now that I've calculated the volume and exchanged the currency, it's not as outrageous as I thought. Who knew?
