That is a great suggestion and one I make often. When in doubt, reboot.

Unfortunately the Convertible top system doesn't store any errors. It does a self check each time you push the button, so disconnecting the battery won't really work.

When you drive around, the vibrations jiggle the motor, which I believe spins the Bendix in the motor a little, making the top work

I live just over the hill from Prescott. In Cottonwood.

I don't have Techstream or a diagnostic computer. My mechanic does not run techstream. He uses a more generic scanner system. The only codes he could pull up were emission related. He is going to put me in touch with a mechanic at the Toyota dealership in Prescott.
