Thanks mnew. Now I know what system check is. I’ve saved it for future reference. My question now is how do I turn the TPMS back on? But that’s for few years down the road, when I get rid of the run flats, I’ll deal with it then. BTW, what is DTS?

I would think rerunning the signal check and completing the process would enable TPMS again. DTC = diagnostic trouble code.

Am I correct in thinking if techstream will run on an XP machine it will also run on a Vista machine as well?

Dennis, I imagine that with the right IT guy, a Vista machine can be made to work. BGW & I put a lot of time in trying to get my Vista based laptop to work and I finally gave up. I'm guessing that it also needs the registry adjustments. OTOH, my Vista laptop is also a 64 bit machine, so it may have 2 strikes against it. But if you figure out how to do it, let us know!

I am going to try and put it on my Dell Inspiron Mini which has XP on but my brother gave me a nice old Dell with Vista on it. So it will not load as easy on a Vista machine as it will on a XP machine? Is that correct?

It has less to do with the operating system more to do with 32 bit vs. 64 bit. I put it on a Windows 7 32 bit with no problems. It is what I currently use. If the Vista is 32 bit I am guessing you will have no problem.

Iolmaster was right. The installation of Techstream depends on the 32 or 64 bit system. If you have older version, it will only install on the 32-bit, Window XP, Vista or Window 7. If you have a newer version, it will install on 64-bit machine with 64-bit Window 7, 8 or 10.

You might have problem with connect to VCM on both instances but that is another problem. By the way, what is OTOH? I must learn these acronyms.

Do you know at what version the software will install on a 64 bit machine?
Also, is there a way to download a later version of the software or do I need to buy a new one to accomplish that?

Okay, my turn, what is VCM?

Guys, once again it is not the version of TechStream that is the issue with 32 bit vs 64 bit. It is the driver for the cable.

Sorry it should be VIM. Don't know what it stands for, probably Vehicle Identification Module?
Here is the link to ver 10 Techstream with driver.

https://megaupload.nz/Q4Jf45k1bb/MINI_VCI_ISO

It is a disc image file and you will need software to 'mount' it so windows thinks it is a cd rom. I recommend WinCDemu, which is extremely easy to install and use.

Thanks for that clarification iolmaster. However, I couldn't load Techstream on my 64 bit Vista laptop. I could load it on my 32 bit XP laptop.

Thanks for the link GmanSC. I may try that if I can get my nerve up for it and find the time to take it on.

Can you upload version 12 on Megaupload?

here is the ISO file for techstream 12.20.024. I make no claim that I own this file(s), but this is the version I was provided by the ebay seller I purchased my cable from.

https://megaupload.nz/035cpbr4b1/toyota_12.20.024_iso

If you are installing this over another version of techstream, I highly suggest uninstalling all of the old techstream software before trying to install this version.
