Default Identify sc430 radio/cd/tape unit 2002 sc430

I have been trying to avoid the $1300 lexus charges for swapping my broken cd changer for a rebuilt unit (they say buying a 'new one' is $2000!). I have crapped out on ebay 2x: First one was a modified one with bluetooth/aux, which didn't even load cd's! The other was a midwest outfit who claimed they could fix cd issues, but quickly went upscale with "bad news...you need to buy our $600 rebuilt unit". After getting my money back minus shipping and my installers $150, i am waiting for the original head unit to ship back...so i don't remember the model stamp on the front of it, or the sticker..the replacement which i got was 86120-24390, and mg8217zt. The s/n on the sticker is af008015.
The parts dept at lexus makes a sort of trace of what unit i have, starting with that four digit one on the tape door, then telling me there are two units corresponding to it! Nothing like a straight answer!

i really hate to see you spend money to remove and replace your OEM radio. If money is no option I understand but wanted to ask if you are handy at all with tools. If you are this is something you can certainly do yourself.
if not, all I can say is I would show you how to do it if you were interested and if I was closer.

either way, good luck and may your radio be completely restored!
