Btw, the repair costs of the ABC suspension alone on a Mercedes SL could equal the price of an SC430 so you're wise to pass on it. I once had a friends SL55 stuck in my driveway for a week because he couldn't move it out of park...there is a plastic piece that is prone to breaking in the shifter. That's just one of the many issues he's had with it. Our SC430 with 110,000 miles has pretty much been problem free.
Agreed with everything you said. Owned mine for three years and money I’ve spent are for oil changed and recently TB and WP services ( besides amenities add-on like DRL lighting and back up cam).

Thanks you guys have been a great help and i'm really leaning to the Lexus. Funny you mentioned the M3, that was one of choices along with the sl or slk. I want a sporty coupe, drop top is a plus, 2 seater is ok. Not sure if i'll be content with 288hp [other car is an '02 z06 vette].

I have had a SL, SLK, Z4, C70, Miata, convertible camero, Mercury Capri and a couple of Convertible Corvettes, a C5 & C4. As you can tell, I am a big fan of convertibles. They all have their individual pros & cons. I love the SC for it's distinct looks and it's reliability. The SL & SLK maintenance cost are terribly high. Though Mercedes engineers cutting edge technology, their reliability leaves much to be desired. The corvettes were pretty reliable and the Z4 was really fun. I probably miss it the most.

Not sure why it didn’t show up as a link...

it looks nice...the previous owner had a bad habit of closing the door on the seatbelt...I would ask the dealer to fix all of those marks in the drivers door jamb.

Why is the discrepancy in mileage between the dealer photo and dealer description? 50k vs 33 k?

You are reading that wrong. The mileage is 50K. The dealership is saying that is 33K below average for the year. So I guess the average for an 2006 SC would be around 83K or so.

Zack If you find a clean SC, you have to be ready
To purchase and pull the trigger or it will be sold.

As long as you like the color, it has a clean CARFAX
AND all the Vin stickers are on all the panels, get it!

I wanted a clean Pearl white and when I found one
where I could confirm all the panels were original, clean CARFAX
and did a PP inspection at the dealer, I bought my SC
within a few hours.
I bought the car within a few hours

The SC is starting to have a cult following
And Buyers are willing to travel for the right
color and clean car.

I owned a few SC’s and before I bought my
pearl white Gold crystal, I sold my 04 Blue SC
with 30K in mint condition within 2 days up
in Northern California with 3 buyers interested.

https://offerup.co/NlhGNibCXQ

not sure of the TB so will negotiate price to replace TB. Any comments.

also this one
https://prescott.craigslist.org/cto/...718471394.html

i think the 2003 is a better deal (price). Any advantage on the 2005 otter than TB was changes. Mileage about the same
