How far are you willing to travel? Several on craigslist in Arkansas. A couple with very good service history records. You do have to be careful as some SC owners think they are holding on to a bar of gold.

Whats up guys. I am willing to travel pretty far for a good deal lol. Last time i was in cali and they had a 08 with 50k miles and i really regret not getting it but it was just out of my budget. They wanted 19,500 but i had to pay double tax cuz it was from ca. I live in ms.

Look at craigslist in Little Rock, AR. I see an 05 just came up with 91K on the clock. Have not done any research on it but he is asking $15,475. The car is in Hot Springs, AR not to far from Little Rock. There is a 04 with 92K on the clock in Bentonville for $14,800 that I have seen that looks nice except that it is RED.

First i want to thanks everyone who is helping me out. I saw that 05 also looks nice. I dont like red but all other coolor is doable. Do you guys think 90k is too much mileage? If i get one with 90k should i get the maintenance done ie. timing belt, water pump, spark, etc... i also found a 07 with decent mileage but it has been in a rear end accident. They fix it up but i haven’t had a chance to go see it in person.

Hi Zack
Try not to settle for any SC. In my mind, if you can afford 15K
and a cleaner one comes along, pay a bit more .
The SC is no longer made and getting one just because
it is “ cheaper” but has mismatched door panels because of a repaint
takes the enjoyment of these cars down.
look for the vin stickers ( means the paint is most likely original) on all the panels and dont
settle for a repainted SC. The car will generally never
match again

Thanks bgw, im getting close, was a first looking at sl Mercedes but while their very reasonable priced the maintenance scares me. I'm leaning towards the sc430 i'd like a little more aggressive stance and handling which can be done with coilovers and wheels/tires. Would like a little more power but that seems impossible. Im at the point i need to test drive a couple to make up my mind.

While it's no M3 the SC430 has plenty of get up and go when you need it. For the price there aren't many cars that drive as well and get as much as attention as this one. The fact that the hard top retracts in under 30 seconds is a bonus. You really need to test drive one to appreciate it! Btw, the repair costs of the ABC suspension alone on a Mercedes SL could equal the price of an SC430 so you're wise to pass on it. I once had a friends SL55 stuck in my driveway for a week because he couldn't move it out of park...there is a plastic piece that is prone to breaking in the shifter. That's just one of the many issues he's had with it. Our SC430 with 110,000 miles has pretty much been problem free.
