Is that the guts to the mirror?
I think we need to hack a way to extend the antenna, fcc won't mind....I'm sure they have a sense of humor.
So, I presume the green arrow points to the antenna; what is the significance of the red arrow pointing to the SMD (surface mounted device)....transmitter circuit?
Could it be as simple as soldering a pigtail to the antenna? Concern: does lengthening the antenna change its frequency.....calling Mr. Wizard....(really dating myself)

Yes, the length of the antenna correlates directly with its resonant frequency. A random addition to the antenna length is likely to just make matters worse. If you do try that, start with just doubling the antenna length, however that will become more complicated if that SMD in the red arrow is part of the antenna.

That is just a picture I had. I have no idea what the SMD does
