Really it's the same as repairing a bottle jack. It depends on what the cost of the parts, availability of parts, and how much you like that jack. I have replaced a seal in one before, not a big deal. The second time it went down I just bought a new one. I needed one with a higher lift for the lr3. Got tired of having to use a block of wood to gain height.
Wash all the oil off, refill with oil and locate the leak.
take it apart and see if you can locate a new seal.
Oh sure... Take me back to the basics of problem solving.
I was hoping I could just post the problem here over and over and have someone give me the exact fix along with estimates from 1 dealer and three independents on what it would cost.

Hahahaha...sorry Daryl, I forgot who I was dealing with and basics are already covered!!!
Lol, not really. I know what I need to do, but I haven't got off my lazy butt to do it. So I haven't washed off the jack yet and refilled it.
But, since I got you reading this, maybe we can go to the next step. The leak would have to be over the dirty/grimey fluid line all around the jack, right? So the chances of the leak on the bottom of my cylinder isn't very great???

perhaps, need a pic(s)
is it leaking same as video?
So I finally got around to looking at my jack further. Based on the knowledge the leak had to be above the "grime line" I traced it back to a bleed screw. The screw was loose, so I tightened it up and refilled the jack with oil. Time will tell if that is the ultimate solution to the problem, but so far there has been no puddle of jack fluid under the jack.
