Default New Alternator installed- Now, no AM Radio

2004 SC 430 -Alternator issue-
I just had my alternator replaced this morning and now the AM radio doesn't work. The FM works but not the AM. Has anyone ever experienced this issue before?

....this is something totally new to me & seems as the 2 wouldn't be connected. Do you know that the AM was working, previous to replacing the alternator?

Any stations at all? Does it at least put noise up on the stations? If no noise, it sounds like the AM portion died. If just noise, it is possible that the conditions are just really bad for AM today where you're at. If it is still out tomorrow, there's definitely a problem.

I've not heard of this problem before. However, I've had days when the stations wouldn't come through because of sun flares and bad weather.

Thanks for the reply. It worked perfectly prior to the alternator being replaced. I have white noise but no stations at all. Everything else works on the headset, FM, Cd, etc, which is the original Mark Levinson.

It does sound like something died. However, you might try disconnecting power to the radio for 15 minutes or so and then re-applying power to it. Maybe it just got in some strange mode. (Either find the fuses that power the radio, pull the radio out and disconnect the cables (big pain) or disconnect the battery from the car for 15 minutes. If it is in a strange mode, that ought to clear it. If it doesn't help, it does sounds like something in the AM receiver has failed.
