Default Nav map replacement

Attempted to update my Nav map from the original 1999 2000 edition. The updated disc had a glitch and I am having it inspected by the supplier. I then attempted to replace the original on an interim basis but I am getting a "disc error" message. I am not sure if this is because the newer disc also updated the system so perhaps the old disc was not compatible with the updated system. Can anyone comment on my experience?

Disc error means drive is having trouble reading the disc. Tried to clean the disc?

If your updated disc did download any information then you can’t go back....you can upgrade but can’t go back once it’s done...the player won’t acknowledge the original disc

None. I just wanted to update the program to reflect all the changes that occurred since 2000. I ran into a problem with the new disc and sent it back to the supplier so I don't have the data you mentioned. The original disc is blue in color. The car is at the repair shop on another matter and wont be available until tomorrow.

I have a 2002 SC 430 Millennial Sliver, black leather. 54k original miles, fully serviced and updated for all recalls. I had a backup camera installed to the GPS screen.
