Pcv valve replacement problem
I was changing the pcv valve (screw in type) on my sc430 and ended up putting a crack in the valve cover. The one I removed was really tight. Has anyone else had this problem

How did you manage to put a crack on the valve cover? Perhaps a picture would help.

my 2004 is a screw in type, I was tightening the pcv valve down similar to the one I took out and a crack developed. The one I removed was really tight. It was a hairline crack

I'd clean the area with a strong solvent to insure no oil or grease is on it, and push a bit of liquid metal glue that is designed for high temps (like JB Weld) into the hairline and see it that will hold it. Or replace the valve cover with new one.

you could just leave it alone and periodically check the valve cover for an oil leak.
It will most likely seep out of the crack.
the suggestion to use JB weld sounds like a good idea...I would just place some over the crack and hope it seals.
