Default Short term removal of one wheel

Briefly, I need to take a rear wheel to Goodyear for them to schedule the repair of a scratch/gouge they inflicted when repairing a slow leak. They won’t schedule the repair until I drop off the wheel - so the car will temporarily be left on only three wheels. My hydraulic floor jack says not to leave weight on it indefinitely. The rear suspension intimidates me. Is it okay to rest the brake disc on, say, a 6x6 block of wood? Other suggestions?

I would not rest the brake rotor on anything Put a jack stand under the axle.

There is a prescribed support area in the Manual and yes it says center of the RR Differential (as far as I remember.

Letting the car sit with the disc on a 6x6 will be fine. Alternately you could let the jack down until the disc is a little above the wood the leave it. If the jack leaks down, fine, if not, even better.

I don't see the problem. Use the mechanical jack, support the car like you're changing tire, or better yet, a jack stand from HF will do.

Do you have another car? Preferably a Toyota or Honda? If so, you can probably use the spare out of that to put on your car. JUST TO SUPPORT THE CAR, NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR.

Good thought, I am passively looking for spare wheel components . . .

Use a jack stand to support the rear diff or axle at lower shock mount. Jack stands can be purchased inexpensively at any walmart, harbor freight, etc. Jack stands should always be used as a safety measure/backup when using any type of car jack to lift a car.

Excellent diagram. So I can place the floor jack under the rear lifting point on the rocker, remove wheel, then place 6X6 block (or as needed) under rear differential. Easy Peasy!
Thx!
