I'm the same way as VVTiBob. I leave my doors shut all the time, partially for security reasons and partially because I prefer the wood look.

The problem with leaving the NAV door closed is back up cam. Wish the door open when car in Reverse and close when car in Drive.

Good point GmanSC. I don't have a backup camera, so that didn't even cross my mind. Even if the door were triggered to the transmission being placed into reverse, it wouldn't open in time to be useful or at least not practical.

I live in Atlanta so driving & traffic galore. Since I’ve installed the new headunit I have door open while driving and paying attention to Waze. The only time I do not use waze is driving locally for errands / gas but all other times I am navigating to make sure I do not get on a backed up road.
when waze is not on I typically have radio on and do shut the bottom door from time to time.
by the way, unrelated, but I switched the run flats to regular Michelin tires.....GAME CHANGER! Only once of bad news, I was told my wheels are bent in a few places and need that resolved or tires will wear faster. Wondering on cost of repair since new wheels are probably 200-300 per axel.

It depends on just how much they are bent and where. Best way to find out is to find a reputable wheel repair place and get an estimate. If you aren't aware of any, you might ask the dealer or maybe even a tire shop, though most likely the tire shop is just going to want to sell you new wheels.
