at all the compliments I've received (and am still getting since I got it in March). I should have known that such a beautiful, luxurious, hard-top convertible would grab some attention, but I had no idea it would be this much.
I usually respond with, "Well, Road&Track Magazine and the BBC don't like it.".
Heh, just kidding. Of course, I try to be humble without being apologetic, and say something like, "Thanks, I'm having fun with it.".

I don't like the "how much did it cost" questions it generates.... seems rude to me... So I usually respond with something like 'plenty' or 'a lot'....
Anyone else find that offensive? ...or is it just me

That's a great answer, LexPro! I've actually never had anyone ask me how much it cost (I also think that's crass). They have asked whether I leased or bought it.
Actually, the conversation is usually brief. They usually say "beautiful car" and I say "Thanks. I like it."

My favorite experience so far with people admiring the car was when I came out of a store and there surrounding the car stood 5 workers, in full uniform, from the nearby Kentucky Fried Chicken.
my favorite comment was:
"We just looking at you car, it so nice" (sic)
The ladyfriend I was with still laughs about it. Now everytime I pick her up, she always says, "we just looking at you car, it so nice."

It's terribly offensive to ask that question!!!! I get it too. Hell, they could just look it up on the internet and find out what one costs. My friend who has a vette always replies, "nunya". They usuall go, "Nunya?!?!" He says, "Nunya damn business!!!!" This car generates a lot of admiration, but also a lot of resentment. There was a post here about a guy who got a milkshake thrown on his car. I've had people put ther chewing gum on the driver's door handle!!! This was out of town where nobody knows me. It was purely because of the car!!!
