I think these cars still look good today. I hated the way they looked until I browsed the SC430 section of Club Lexus years ago. It really grew on me over time. I think it has the nicest interior of any Lexus. I finally test drove one last year and I had a blast.

At my local Lexus dealership the SC430 is the most sought after used Lexus. They sell quickly and people ask if Lexus will bring it back. The SC430 in my area is very common. I see them everywhere now.

I removed the badge in 2002 few weeks after the purchase, just a screw holds it.

It looked initially fat to me for few weeks, then grew on me, but now I see 3 in1 sporty, luxury and convertible. now after 17 years I add reliability, nothing to compare in the market.

Heres wishing the SC430 living in the hearts of
car fans for another 17 years like the classic
BMW 635 CSI, Mercedes 190SL, Acura NSX
and Porsche 911’s and even the Ferrari’s

From the rear I think it still looks sexy as he_, heck! But the front headlights/housing could use an update.

Did you have them custom rebuilt with angel eyes , halo's or similar? Or aftermarket?

i built them. Did the clear lens mod on the stock projectors and added a second set of projectors that have highbeams. No halos or angel eyes.

I actually feel like the car still looks fairly modern excluding the front. The profile could just as easily be from today, as well as the rear. especially with LEDs.

The car looks good (and "classic-looking), but it's obvious that it's also dated:

  • Wheels would be larger today in proportion to the body, possibly staggered (20" + 21")
  • Grill would be MUCH larger today
  • Rear track would be wider than the front, not the other way
  • Quad exhaust would be likely, with possibly square exhaust tips either chromed or blacked-out
  • Windows would be smaller
  • Possibly some sharp "character lines", too

Additionally:
  • Larger brakes, possibly red
  • LED or laser headlights

If they designed the SC in 2000 with today features, the car would look “weird”.
I’m glad they didn’t. Love the classic looks.

Just an upgrade kit of lights, all (interior + exterior, newer than 2006) would give this car a current look.

Default Laser Lights?

would they cut through traffic blocking you?

seriously, if you want it to be a sports car just drop in into 3rd gear - it's like driving a totally different car
